Warranty Policy
At Shadeotech, we stand behind the quality of our products and are committed to customer satisfaction. This limited warranty covers only defects in materials and workmanship and applies solely to the original purchaser at the original installation site. It is non-transferable and valid for as long as you reside in your home, provided all balances are paid in full and warranty registration is completed within 30 days of installation at shadeotech.com/registration. Any unpaid or open invoices will void the warranty, and after three notices of nonpayment, the warranty will be permanently void.
Aluminum components such as frames and brackets are covered for life against defects in material and workmanship. Fabrics carry warranty coverage of five to ten years depending on the type of fabric selected, with the specific coverage period disclosed at the time of purchase. Motorized products, including motors and solar chargers, as well as remotes and touch controls, are covered for five years from purchase. Non-rechargeable batteries are excluded. Materials such as stitching, hardware, and brackets are covered, as are defects in motors and solar charging systems.
This warranty does not cover damage arising from accidents, misuse, abuse, neglect, or improper operation. Duo (Zebra) and Tri shades that are damaged by pulling cords incorrectly will be considered physical damage and excluded from coverage. Rechargeable motors must be charged exclusively with the Shadeotech-supplied charger; using other chargers voids the warranty. Remotes that are dropped, exposed to moisture, tampered with, or reprogrammed outside of Shadeotech’s guidance are not covered. Opening motor housings, altering wiring, or attempting unauthorized reprogramming voids warranty coverage. Any service to correct problems caused by such tampering will incur a trip charge starting at $125 plus the cost of repair or replacement.
Exterior shades are covered only when used under normal residential conditions and installed on suitable, flat surfaces. Any installation on stone, masonry, or sloped patios requiring foam, shims, or modification will not be covered for aesthetic results or surface damage. Warranty will be void if exterior shades are left down during extreme weather conditions such as high winds, hail, freezing rain, or any event that triggers an official weather alert. Damage to zippers, fabrics, or mechanical components under these conditions, or damage to adjacent surfaces such as brick, stucco, or wood, is excluded. Customers are required to retract exterior shades during adverse weather.
This warranty also excludes coverage for fabric wrapping of cassettes or bottom rails, which we do not recommend. Any issues resulting from dust, dirt, or tape wear will not be covered. Third-party electrical work is not covered under any circumstances, and Shadeotech accepts no responsibility for damages caused by non-authorized electricians. If a solar panel becomes obstructed by landscaping, construction, or furniture after installation, repositioning will require a paid service visit.
Shadeotech does not send installers for minor tasks such as reprogramming motorization, replacing solar panels or peripherals, or charging or changing batteries. These systems are designed for simple customer use, and our support team can provide phone guidance. If a technician visit is requested, a service fee will apply. If Shadeotech dispatches a technician for a non-charging motor and it is determined that the solar panel was removed, misconnected, or charged with the wrong device, the customer will be invoiced for the service call.
Customers are responsible for all shipping costs. Installation services are not covered after one year. In many cases, replacements can be self-installed with guidance from our support team, but if professional uninstall and reinstall is requested, each trip will be billed. Customers must ensure that installation areas are cleared of furniture and valuables; Shadeotech is not responsible for property damage during installation. Improper installation, failure to handle products correctly, or failure to maintain them in accordance with Shadeotech’s care and cleaning instructions will void the warranty.
All warranty claims require a technician visit to inspect the issue, and a trip charge starting at $125 will always apply, including for valid claims. If the issue falls outside warranty coverage, repair and replacement costs will be billed in addition to the trip charge. To file a claim, customers must contact Shadeotech Support at 469-499-3322 or support@shadeotech.com, provide proof of purchase, and submit clear photos of the issue. Shadeotech will evaluate the claim and at its discretion repair or replace the product.
This warranty is strictly limited to repair or replacement of the product and does not cover incidental, consequential, or punitive damages. Removal of shades by non-authorized installers, including for painting or window replacement, voids the warranty. Any deviation from Shadeotech’s professional installation recommendations will also void coverage. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have rights that vary by state or region. All disputes will be governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
