Do motorized shades need an electrician?
Not usually. Most of our motors run on rechargeable batteries hidden in the headrail, so there is no wiring. For new builds and remodels we can also hardwire them, or add a small solar panel.
How long does the battery last?
Typically 6 to 12 months between charges, depending on how often the shade moves. Recharge it with a USB-C cable.
Do the remotes work without Wi-Fi?
Yes. Remotes talk to the motors by radio. Wi-Fi is only needed for app and voice control, so the remotes keep working if your internet drops.
Do motorized shades work with Alexa, Google Home and Apple HomeKit?
Yes, with a smart hub. You can then use voice, the app, schedules and scenes.
Which smart hub do I need?
We can supply a hub designed for shades, or you can use a universal Bond hub. Your consultant will recommend the right one for your motors and home.
Which shades can be motorized?
Roller, duo, tri sheer, uni, Roman and cellular shades, plus zip-track, wire-guide and clear vinyl exterior screens.
What does the warranty cover?
Our written limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship: motors and controls for 5 years, and fabrics for 5 to 10 years depending on the fabric. Register within 30 days of installation to be covered.
