Why Roller Shades?

Roller shades are a modern and low-maintenance window treatment known for their sleek design and smooth operation. With a variety of fabrics to choose from, including light-filtering and blackout options, they offer customized light control and privacy to suit any space. Blackout roller shades provide the highest level of UV protection, heat reduction, and privacy, making them ideal for bedrooms and areas where you want the space as dark as possible. Light-filtering fabrics allow natural light to gently illuminate the room while reducing glare and heat. Affordable and energy-efficient, roller shades are a versatile solution that enhances both style and functionality in any home or office.  For added child and pet safety, roller shades can be motorized and operated through a remote or smart device.

Smart Operation

Motorized roller shades bring convenience and seamless control to your space, allowing you to adjust them with a remote, smartphone, or voice assistant. Available in rechargeable battery-powered or hardwired options, they offer a wire-free setup or continuous power solution to fit your needs. Battery-powered motors require no wiring and recharge every 6–12 months via USB-C, while an optional solar panel add-on keeps them charged automatically. With smart home integration, you can schedule shade movements, control them remotely, and adjust settings hands-free using your smart home assistant.

FAQ

What are Roller Shades?
Roller shades are sleek, minimalistic window coverings made from a single piece of fabric that rolls up onto a tube when raised. They are versatile, easy to operate, and suitable for a wide range of interior styles.
What is the warranty coverage?
Our shades come with a limited lifetime warranty. As long as you remain in your home and the issue is due to our fault, we will replace your shades at no charge. Be sure to register your shades to be eligible for any warranty claims.
Are Roller Shades and Solar Shades the same?
Solar shades are a type of roller shade designed with a unique PVC composition that allows you to see outside while maintaining daytime privacy. Often referred to as sunscreen shades, they are available in different openness levels, including 1%, 3%, 5%, and 10%, which determine how much light and visibility they provide. Unlike traditional fabric roller shades, solar shades are recommended for high-traffic areas, commercial spaces, hospitality settings, and garages due to their durability and easy-to-clean surface. For those who need total light blockage, blackout solar shades are also available.
How long does Manufacturing take?
Our shades can be manufactured in as little as two days, but due to high order volumes, installation typically takes place within a few days to 2–3 weeks after ordering. For urgent needs, we offer expedited manufacturing to prioritize your order. In rare cases, delays may occur if fabrics are discontinued or unavailable at our DFW production facility.
How long will Installation take?
Installation time depends on the number of windows and how level they are. For an entire home, installation typically takes 4–5 hours. Please ensure an adult is present during installation and that the walkways to the windows are clear for our team.
Will there be gaps on the sides?
Yes, a small sliver of light will be visible on both sides due to the shade’s operating mechanism. In Texas homes, where walls are often not perfectly straight, we take measurements from the narrowest point to ensure a proper fit, which may result in slightly larger gaps. If this is a concern, you can opt for side channels to minimize the light gaps.
I'm sensitive to light; can Roller Shades help?
Yes, blackout roller shades are effective for light sensitivity as they consist of a solid fabric that blocks most light. However, to address potential light gaps due to wall irregularities or the shade mechanism, installing aluminum side channels is recommended to minimize light leakage.
How affordable are Roller Shades?
Roller shades are among the most cost-effective window treatments, primarily because they utilize a single piece of fabric, simplifying their design and manufacturing process.
Why don’t you recommend fabric-wrapping the cassette and bottom rail?
Over time, dust and debris may accumulate in the fabric’s grooves, making it harder to maintain. Instead, you can have it sealed or leave the aluminum exposed. We color-coordinate our aluminum cassettes and bottom rails to match your selected fabric, offering a sleek, seamless, and low-maintenance finish in White, Ivory, Anodized, or Black. We recommend keeping the aluminum exposed for the best long-term durability and aesthetics.
What materials are Roller Shades made from?
Roller shades come in materials such as polyester, linen, or blends. For high-traffic areas or homes with children, PVC (often referred to as solar screen/ sunscreen) is a practical choice due to its durability and ease of cleaning.
What materials are Roller Shades made from?
Yes! We are just as much of a perfectionist as you are. During your consultation, we take precise measurements to ensure all fabric and sheer lines align. For multiple windows in a row, we may adjust measurements based on the shortest window height to maintain a consistent look.
What type of chain is used for operating Roller Shades?
We use steel beaded chains that are custom-cut to the appropriate length for each installation, ensuring both safety and aesthetics. Unlike some competitors that use plastic chains or leave excess length, our approach provides a cleaner and more durable solution.
Why choose Roller Shades over Faux Wood blinds in terms of affordability?
As of early 2024, regulations have prohibited traditional pull-cord systems in faux wood blinds, making cordless faux wood blinds comparably priced to roller shades. Additionally, roller shades are easier to clean and lighter in weight compared to faux wood blinds.
How often do I need to clean my Roller Shades?
No regular cleaning is required. If you prefer, you can vacuum them occasionally. For stains, use water and mild soap.
Can I upgrade to motorization later on?
Yes, you can upgrade your shades to motorization at any time. Our technicians will visit your home to install the motor and complete the programming on-site. Please note, there will be an installation fee if the upgrade is done at a later time, but it's included if you opt for motorization during your initial order.
