How it works

Sealed on every side, in four parts.

A zip-track screen is a roller screen with one big difference: its edges are locked in, so it stays flat and sealed instead of flapping in the wind.

Choose your view and your shade.

Exterior screen fabric is woven so air moves through while sun and insects stay out, and you still see the yard from inside. We bring samples to your patio so you can compare them in your own light.

  • Lower openness: more privacy and glare control, with a softer view
  • Higher openness: a clearer view of the yard with lighter shade
  • Fabric color: darker colors usually give a clearer view out; lighter colors reflect more heat

Questions

Zip-track screens, explained.

Warranty policy
What is a zip-track screen?

A zip-track screen is an exterior shade whose fabric edges lock into side channels, so the screen stays taut instead of flapping. That design gives strong wind resistance and helps keep insects out. Shadeotech manufactures zip-track screens in Carrollton for patios, porches and commercial spaces.

Do zip-track screens keep mosquitoes out?

Yes. The fabric edges are locked into side channels, closing the gaps where bugs typically get past regular outdoor shades. That makes zip-track screens a popular way to enjoy an evening patio in Dallas–Fort Worth without mosquitoes and flies.

How wide can a zip-track screen be?

Shadeotech builds single zip-track screens up to 23 feet wide, made to the inch for your opening. Wider patios are covered with two or more screens side by side.

Can zip-track screens go on a garage door opening?

Yes. We install the same zip-track screen on garage openings, so you can keep the garage door up for airflow in summer while the screen blocks sun and keeps insects out.

How do zip-track screens handle wind?

Because the fabric is held in side channels, the screen holds steady far better than free-hanging shades. Our solar-powered wind sensor raises motorized screens automatically when gusts get too strong.

Can I control my screens when I am away from home?

Yes. With the Shadeotech smart hub you can raise or lower your screens from the app anywhere, set schedules, and use Alexa, Google Home or Apple HomeKit. Remotes and wall switches still work without Wi-Fi.

Will I know when my screens are being made?

Yes. Every customer gets a dashboard that shows each production step, from order confirmation through manufacturing and quality checks to your installation date.

Are zip-track screens waterproof?

No. Zip-track mesh is designed to let air through while blocking sun and insects, so it reduces wind-driven rain but does not stop it. For real rain protection on a covered patio, clear vinyl patio screens are the better choice.

How long does it take to get zip-track screens?

Exterior screens are made to measure in our Carrollton factory, usually in 2–4 weeks after your measurement, and then installed by our own team.

How much do zip-track screens cost?

Cost depends on the opening size, fabric, number of screens, motorization, controls and mounting. Shadeotech gives an exact itemized quote after a free measurement, with factory-direct pricing and financing available.

What does the warranty cover?

Our written limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship: motors and controls for 5 years, and fabrics for 5 to 10 years depending on the fabric. Register within 30 days of installation to be covered.
